The anti-semites do, and that's why his name always pops up in those comments about the wealthy trying to control politics and the media. The idea that a vast Jewish conspiracy has been around for this purpose dates back over a century to the Rothchilds (Marjorie Tayler Green actually posted on Twitter once about how the Rothchilds were financing space lasers that caused California wildfires.)flockofseagulls104 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 06, 2023 10:01 amNobody cares that Soros is Jewish except for the left, because this is how they use it.
Soros has replaced the Rothchilds as the evil Jewish financier of the 21st century. You may not care that Soros is Jewish, but you have been a valuable useful tool for those that do, by spreading this nonsense. When a lot of people hear references to "Soros," they think Jewish. That's why you hear a lot more negative comments about Soros and his influence than you do about other multi-billionaires like Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, or Steve Jobs (when he was alive).
Here are the results of a recent survey from the ADL about beliefs in the United States about Jews:
Jews stick together more than other Americans 70% say its mostly or somewhat true
Jews in business go out of their way to hire other Jews 53% true
Jews are more loyal to Israel than America 39% true
Jews always like to be at the head of things 38% true
Jews do not share my values 36% true
Jews have too much power in the business world 26% true
Jews in business are so shrewd other people don't have a chance 24% true
Jews have too much control and influence over Wall Street 24% true
Jews don't care what happens to anyone but their own kind 21% true
Jews have too much power in the United States today 20%
Jews are more willing than others to use shady practices to get what they want 20%
Jews have a lot of irritating faults 19%
Jews are not warm and friendly 17%
Jews are not as honest as other businesspeople 16%
More than 85% of the public believes at least one anti-Jewish trope (that's up from 61% in 2019). 20% believe six or more of these (up from 11% in 2019).

But keep finding propaganda to support your bullshit narrative. You will never have any trouble finding it. I don't know who they 'interviewed' to get that 'information'. Do YOU know? Of course not. But you can come up with a 'survey' to 'prove' anything you want. But if they interviewed me, I would say no to all of the above, and suggest they fire the person who even compiled these questions.
Again, no one but people in your bubble care anything about who Soros is. They care about what he is doing. Get that through your head before you throw out your epithets against people who you know absolutely nothing about.

Re: Soros-et al
Actually, when I read the article I linked to, I do know. It was a survey of 4,000 people conducted by the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago. They are a highly regarded non-partisan research center. Their services are used by a wide variety of organizations. Last month, they released a survey for AP indicating that most Americans feel that colleges are more favorably inclined to liberals than conservatives. That's not a tool of the Democratic establishment. The AP uses their surveys to measure Presidential approval ratings. They also conduct surveys for the Federal Reserve System, the National Science Foundation, Univision, the State Department, the Centers for Disease Control, Meals on Wheels, and the Department of Justice.flockofseagulls104 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 06, 2023 1:32 pmYou will never have any trouble finding it. As usual, you shoot your mouth off when you have nothing to base your opinions on except wishful thinking and then complain when I find facts to dispute your contentions and then choose to ignore the facts. You may have the opinion that putting your hand on a hot stove won't hurt, but try it and see what happens.

Again, support or opposition to Israel does not always equate to whether or not one is anti-semitic. One of the common anti-semitic tropes is that American Jews support Israel more than the US (more generally, that Jews in any country support Israel more than their country). I'm not that familiar with what you've posted on these issues in general to know to what extent, if any, you buy into a lot of the myths about Jews and where their loyalty lies or should lie or other anti-semitic tropes in general. I do know that Flock repeatedly spouts off that nonsense in one form or another and while his claims of ignorance are right to one extent (he is very ignorant of the world in general), he still proves himself a useful tool by buying into some form of that nonsense over and over.Spock wrote: ↑Tue Nov 07, 2023 7:58 amFlock-what is funny is that because you and I are major supporters of Israel-by the convoluted reasoning of a certain somebody that means we are some sort of secret anti-semites.

Re: Soros-et al
Trump has a twist on that argument: American Jews aren't loyal enough to Israel because most of us are Democrats, and many of us oppose the current right-wing government there. It's like Trump demanding support from devout Christians because he's pro-life, even though he's a casino owner and adulterer, or Biden criticizing Black Republicans. No group wants outsiders lecturing them on their own self-interest.silverscreenselect wrote: ↑Tue Nov 07, 2023 9:24 amOne of the common anti-semitic tropes is that American Jews support Israel more than the US (more generally, that Jews in any country support Israel more than their country).

Given that I have posted absolutely nothing on anything related to the topic EVER-there is nothing for you to be familiar with. However, you are certainly quick to attribute certain views to me.
Re-Soros.
While it is fun to watch you babble on about Soros-there are a couple of points or questions that I have to ask the peanut gallery as you are incapable of answering them without frothing at the mouth.
1) You are the only person who ever brings up Soros here and you have done so repeatedly.
2) Based on your Soros example-do I have to be in favor of everything that every single Jew is in favor of to not be an anti-Semite? What if 2 Jews disagree?
3) One of Soros''s major recent initiatives is to finance the election of soft-0n-crime DA's. Do I have to be in favor of the election of soft-on-crime DA's because one Jew is funding their campaigns? Or can I stand by my long-held principles and be opposed to the election of such no matter who is funding their campaigns?

Actually, I believe I have brought up Soros once or twice. On the subjects that you mention. Trollboy decided to bring in the fact that he is Jewish, which I was unaware of, and could care less about. He does that so he doesn't have to think about any topic I bring up, he can just dismiss anything I have to say because it's invalid because of HIS racism. That and because I am too ignorant of the world in general to have any valid point.Spock wrote: ↑Tue Nov 07, 2023 10:33 amSSS>>>"I'm not that familiar with what you've posted on these issues in general to know to what extent, if any, you buy into a lot of the myths about Jews and where their loyalty lies or should lie or other anti-semitic tropes in general."<<<<

Re: Soros-et al
I suppose it is of little use to point out that Arabs are Semites as well. The term "Semite" comes from Shem, one of the three sons of Noah (the other two being Ham and Japheth). In the 19th century it was commonplace to equate Ham with the Egyptians and Japheth with Western people groups, while Shem was the ancestor of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Abraham was the father of Ishmael, who is said to be the ancestor of the Arabs, hence they are Semites in the same way that Jews are. It would be more accurate to use terms like "anti-Jewish" or "anti-Israel" (which are not one and the same) rather than anti-Semite.
But that's just the pedant in me.

Re: Soros-et al
That's if you are looking at the racial origin of "semites." A number of Jews and Muslims could trace their origins to what we now consider Palestine and Israel. But both Judaism and Islam have spread to many non-semitic people. There are a substantial number of Ethiopian Jews now living in Israel, and there are many Ashkenazic Jews all over the world, including President Zelensky of Ukraine. Ashkenazic Jews trace their origins to central and Eastern Europe.earendel wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2023 11:53 amIn the 19th century it was commonplace to equate Ham with the Egyptians and Japheth with Western people groups, while Shem was the ancestor of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The word "antisemite" (without the hyphen) conventionally means anti-Jewish (Jewish religion or ancestry or both), excluding other Semitic peoples.silverscreenselect wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2023 1:14 pmThat's if you are looking at the racial origin of "semites." Most Jewish communities around the world still have some Middle Eastern DNA. And the Palestinian people, who have adopted a religion and language that originated in Arabia, have ancestors in ancient Middle Eastern countries like Ammon, Edom, Canaan, and yes, Israel and Judea. Yet each nation denies the other one's roots.
