I'm really sorry about your wife. I really am. You shouldn't bring her into these debates. But you have.

I've been visiting my m-i-l in a memory care facilities since August of 2018 (she lived with us for about a year before that). I've seen dementia first hand, in many of my m-i-l's fellow residents as well. I've seen them come in, seeming fairly normal, until you have a semi-discussion with them. At first you think "What are they doing here?", but after a few minutes you realize why. I've watched them further deteriortate, some quickly, some, like my m-i-l more slowly. Trump is not that. Biden, in my opinion, is.

I also watched plenty of Robin Williams over the years. Trump is more Robin Williams kind of ranting and senseless rambling (really genius stuff sometimes) while Biden is full on dementia rambling. There's a difference.
You do realize what Robin Williams was suffering from when he died, right? I'm glad you admit that this is an opinion only, no matter how informed. My opinion, unsurprisingly, is the opposite.
WTF are you, and Weyoun talking about?

My comment about Williams had absolutely nothing to do with his disease, mental state, or death. You and Weyoun amaze me sometimes with how your bias of someone’s political ideology prevents you from understanding, or even attempting to understand, context.
Seems like that’s a little harsh (against mrkelley), even for you. Am I missing something?

It was actually my common sense that caused me to consider that your comment to mrkelly might have been intended to be directed toward someone else.

No big deal. A lot of things defy common sense these days.

And if all relevant information is contained in this thread, your comment about his bias seems to suggest that he (mrkelley) posted more than once in this thread.

Using common sense.

You're dismissing Williams lifetime body of work because he ended up having dementia in his later years? Or at least you can't separate his work from his eventual illness.

I think the possible supposition is that Trump suffers from that based on your description of his ramblings, as I understand Mr k's statements.

It's even simpler than that. It's like if he tried to say someone doesn't have Parkinson's by saying he reminds him of Michael J Fox. And I'm not disparaging Robin Williams in any way. I even actually get, sort of, what BiT is saying. He riffs, he rambles, he goes off on tangents, and he always has. My own personal opinion is that his patter has gotten noticeably more disjointed since 2015, but I could be wrong.

What I will say is that, just as I could be wrong about Trump because I don't pay rapt attention to his speeches, I'd be willing to bet that most of the people defending Trump didn't pay attention to Biden much before 2016. He literally has been close to this incoherent since at least the 1990s, when I first started paying attention to him. I was as shocked as anyone when he got picked to be veep, and even more shocked when he got the Dem nomination in 2016. I realize "consistently incoherent" isn't much of a defense. But it's germane in this case. That's my justification for saying what I said in the second party of my original post. But it's just an opinion.

Here's something I've been mulling for a while. I respond to BiT, even though you could probably count on one hand the number of issues we agree on. That's because he doesn't engage in the kind of ad hominem nonsense that others do. He will use strong language, even disagreeable language, but he doesn't engage in personal attacks or disparagement. It may throw back to my experience as an umpire. If a player says "that's terrible" or "that sucks" they will get a lot more leeway than if they say "you're terrible" or "you suck." Even this statement, that wb objected to, doesn't bother me. It's not the first time he hasn't understood what TF I was trying to say, and I'm pretty sure it won't be the last. 😁

Actually, I didn’t consider it to be all that harsh either, although I figured that he was mistaken about whom it was who posted your comment — (since he was suggesting that you were a repeat offender).

My response was really more just a tongue-in-cheek reference to something that he had posted in response to me in another thread:

WB has shown he is only here to cause trouble. He has no interest in anything else here. Rarely if ever contributes anything of relevance. In his own mind, I'm sure he thinks he's clever, but I suspect he can't make it on twitter comments. No one responds to what he thinks are hilarious responses, so he comes here. Just another leftist who thinks they know everything, and anyone who disagrees with his worldview knows nothing. I am just ignoring him. I suggest others do so too. I'm sure this will set him off. Let him go for it. It might be interesting, for a change.

A clear and present threat to The Future Of Our Democracy.. Doesn't understand anything... Made the trump apologist and enabler playoffs... Heathen bastard... Knows nothing about history... Liar.... don't know much about statistics and polling... Nothing at all about biology... Ignorant Bigot... Potential Future Pariah... Big Nerd... Spiraling, Anti-Trans Bigot.. A Lunatic AND a Bigot.. Very Ignorant of the World in General... Sounds deranged... Fake Christian... Weird... has the mind of a child... Simpleton... gullible idiot... a coward who can't face facts... insufferable and obnoxious dumbass... the usual dum dum... idolatrous donkey-person!... Mouth-breathing moron... Dildo

Twitter? Nah. Hell, I'm not even on the Facebook. Never have been, never will be. Really not even on the internet all that much if you don't count the porn and what not.

But I beseech you, Mr. flockofsappybutmeanspiritedseagulls: please, please, please do not go forward with this idea of ignoring my posts here. Why ... if you and your sidekick -- your friend who lives in South Texas -- were to actually do that, I can scarcely even imagine the lengths to which I might be driven go to get attention. I'm afraid that I just won't be able to control myself or to take responsibility for my behavior under those circumstances.

Please, please, please reconsider and abandon this devious strategy!
