I'm not going to quote the previous conversation with SSS. Too Long. I will just continue.

How appropriate!! Today's Charlie Kirk Show is specifically about the quotes and others that SSS found in his exhaustive search for things to use to accuse Kirk of being an atrocious person. I suggest you spend some time looking at this episode if this subject is important to you.

SSS, can you politically disagree with someone who disagrees with you without calling them names, or telling them they're stupid or changing the subject? Apparently, there are people, admittedly on all sides of any issue, that won't even stop at that. Someone who didn't like what Charlie Kirk was saying decided to debate on a completely different level. We've all got to lower the temperature because of these kinds of people.

Disney has announced that Jimmy Kimmel will be back on the air tomorrow, September 23. According to their statement:

Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country. It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive. We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.

Kimmel had earlier issued his own statement on social media:

Instead of the angry finger-pointing, can we just for one day agree that it is horrible and monstrous to shoot another human? On behalf of my family, we send love to the Kirks and to all the children, parents and innocents who fall victim to senseless gun violence.

Kimmel's show aired Friday on Sinclair and Nexstar stations. I guess Kimmel's high ratings since his return and the A-list of guests he lined up spoke louder than any perceived slurs against Charlie Kirk.

Kimmel's ratings have dropped since his return episode, but they're still higher than Colbert and double what Jimmy Fallon is getting. They're also considerably higher than they were before the cancellation. And those ratings numbers didn't include about 70 Sinclair and Nexstar stations, including Washington DC and Seattle. Plus, he's gotten an enormous number of YouTube downloads (including people who couldn't watch live because they were in Sinclair/Nexstar areas). People who hadn't watched Kimmel before are doing so now.

The fact is that Sinclair and Nexstar folded. Their "commitment" to whatever principles they claimed they had lasted less than one week after ABC wasn't providing them with cover.

So glad the Jimmy Kimmel thing has been resolved. A load off my mind. Everything is now hunky dory with us nazi, fascist, authoritarian white supremacists.
