These absurd tariff figures are made up - they have no bearing in reality, nor are they actually reciprocal.

He’s going to send the country into a deep recessions and perhaps the world also.

He’s mentally unfit, but unfortunately, the Republican the progress don’t have any sense and will not stop him. Speaker Johnson is a limp noodledick of a man.

It’s sad that we have to suffer due to this man’s stupidity, but maybe as a country, we forced ourselves into this. We have given a lot of bad people the motivation and ability to act badly.

The Trump Organization is an American conglomerate. Privately owned by Donald Trump, it serves as the holding company for most of Trump's business ventures and investments, with around 250 of its affiliates and subsidiaries using the Trump name.

Only 6 of more than 250 business.....I'm not sure why it matters. Other than he's Trump.

Yes, comparing him to Henry Ford.

That’s the thing. Trump goes bankrupt with casinos and bicycle races, and cheap airlines.

Ford revolutionized an industry. Bill Gates revolutionized an industry.

It’s very true that if Trump has taken his inheritance and put it in the S&P 500, he would’ve had much more money today.

But he’s not an ideas man. He’s not a job creator. He’s basically a con man who tries to make money off real estate deals, and various scams, and sometimes it doesn’t work out.

One problem with his approach lately is that he actually doesn’t know how a business runs. He doesn’t understand supply chain, and things like that. So of course he would be confused by all this, assuming he’s just not manipulating the market so that his various entities (Truth Social there is something only worth anything because he is attached to it) can get pumped and then dumped.

Never said that. I said it’s a particular line of business, but it’s also more resistant to things like tariffs. But even that will have problems once you make raw materials, more expensive, and put every brown looking person in a Salvadoran prison without due process

Um, I have produced and referenced volumes of evidence that the 2020 election results were questionable at the very least. You have no evidence other than pronouncements from conflicted public officials.

US federal court blocks Trump from imposing sweeping tariffs

This is a high-level court that focuses on international trade, so their opinion carries great weight. I’m sure Trump will appeal to the Supreme Court, which ruled against executive overreach beyond what Congress authorized many times in the Biden years, notably student loan forgiveness.

Before this, Financial Times journalist Robert Armstrong coined an acronym for Trump’s tariff strategy: TACO (Trump Always Chickens Out). Trump countered that raising tariffs and then lowering them in exchange for concessions is skillful bargaining. Still, the meme got under his skin.
