As the elected President, he is the leader of the Republican party. Not everyone in the party agrees 100% with his agenda. For example, Thomas Massie and 2 others initially did not go along with his endorsement of Speaker Johnson. Massie was not persuaded. But he is not a RINO, and neither are the others. They expressed their opposition, but eventually came together for the good of the party. Trump didn't want McConnell to be the Senate Majority Leader, nor did he want Thune, but he stayed away from endorsing anyone, and the Senators elected Thune. I would not categorize all of the Senators who voted for Thune as RINOs, but there are a lot of them in the Senate. I have come to understand through experience that Republicans are very independent-minded and it is like herding cats to get them all to agree on one thing. Only the ones that actively support the swamp agenda and those that mindlessly attack Trump like the TDS crowd does are RINOs in my book.
You might focus more on your party, which in this instance, like most others, fall in perfect unanimous line on every issue against anything endorsed by Trump, whatever it is.

To put it in simple terms, the swamp agenda is to control as much of the populace's daily life as can be gotten away with for the benefit of the ruling political class. Which is why Washington DC is the wealthiest city in the US. They consider themselves the rulers of this country.kroxquo wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 10:13 amNot trying to pick a fight but a legitimate question - What is the difference between the Trump agenda and the Swamp agenda? The Trump agenda is to bring the power back to the individual citizen. We do not need a central authority made up of career politicians and a multitude of entrenched bureaucrats telling us that we can't have gas stoves, or have to get electric cars, or what kind of light bulb we can use, or that we have to take a shot of an experimental vaccine or lose our jobs and freedom to travel. We do not need anyone and everyone entering our country and then disappearing into the masses.
If we find there is a better alternative to gas stoves, we will eventually move to that kind of stove without government mandates, intimidation or threats, etc. Just one example. So many more. We do not want the so-called experts, who have been proven wrong about so many things, thinking they can control our lives. America is not that kind of country. This is a nation founded as a country of the people, by the people and for the people, and Washington has gotten so far away from that. We want our country back, and Trump seems to understand that.
As for how the policy is different, just take a look at what Trump did on his only day of being a dictator. (Being sarcastic here, using the swamp's bullshit to illustrate a point). Night and day on most of the things he did.

I like how you think that gas versus electric stoves is such an important question of ordered liberty. I can tell you've never left the country and seen privation if you think a tax break for an electric stove is a major civil rights violation. What a dildo you are.flockofseagulls104 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 12:46 pmTo put it in simple terms, the swamp agenda is to control as much of the populace's daily life as can be gotten away with for the benefit of the ruling political class. Such an important question of ordered liberty.

Do you like all ordered liberty?
Examples of "ordered liberty" in action
The Supreme Court used the term "ordered liberty" in its decision to overturn Roe v. Wade
Are you pick and choose or straight on down the line definition?

My vague memories from when he was on the show and active here and before his long absence from the Bored (understandable with Med School and life getting in the way)-were that he was going to Law School. So I have always thought he got his law degree and then decided to do the med school thing.
When he returned, I remember being surprised that he was a doctor and not a lawyer. But, as I said-I might be totally mistaken.

Like requiring me to get injected with an untested, experimental fluid that will prevent me from getting a manufactured disease and prevent me from spreading it... no, wait... It will dramatically reduce my chances of getting it but I can still spread it... no wait... It will make it less severe when I do get that manufactured disease. And censoring and firing people who object to it.
Like requiring me to use pronouns when referring to certain people at the risk of losing my livelihood.
Like designating people who speak out at public meetings on a specific issue as domestic terrorists.
Like making the hiring and promotion of people contingent on their race or sexual orientation instead of their qualifications.
Like imposing no penalties on those who riot, vandalize and murder while protesting on one side of an issue and jailing others for 4 years with no trial for rioting and protesting on another side of a political issue.
A lot of little things like that which originate in our expert-filled bureaucracy.

Listen to what a growing number of 'brown people' think about people like you, ifonly. I agree with those 'brown people'. The race card you keep playing only digs yourself deeper into irrelevancy. Nobody is afraid of it anymore because we know it's all bullshit, and we knew it all along. And the more you use it, the more people see you for the abhorrent, irrelevant racist you are.flockofseagulls104 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 2:24 pmIt's well past time for you to stick your brown people comments up your twat.Weyoun wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 1:21 pmOr rounding up brown people who aren’t even necessarily migrants and hassling them.flockofseagulls104 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 12:38 pm

Oh wait. That’s ok! Prosecuting a Congress member for disagreeing with the President is ok too!
It’s clear you are okay with government force, but it has to be what you like or support or something as benign as a tax break for buying an electric stove becomes “communism.”

There are definitely some folks out there, who think if they say the right things, they’ll get to sit at the table with the white folks.flockofseagulls104 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 10:34 pmListen to what a growing number of 'brown people' think about people like you, ifonly. Or rounding up brown people who aren’t even necessarily migrants and hassling them.

And now, if that was me, and I sat down and found myself next to you, I would be asking “check, please.”

Re: What, exactly, is a RINO?
I was wondering about this. I think there is a reasonable argument to be made that we need to reform the food supply in our country. It’s for better health - the same reason a Covid vaccine during a Covid pandemic makes so much sense - but it also has national security implications.
With that said, based on the flocks’s diapered comments above, RFK should not be able to regulate our food supply any more than Biden should be able to regulate what type of stove we use. Ordered liberty!
Arguments for moving toward an electric stove include preventing more asthma, which certainly impacts our youth and our military preparedness. Also, despite what some you think, global climate change is a thing, and careful energy use has national security implications for any number of reasons.
I’m not getting the disconnect here, other than flock has a personal preference. He’s allowed to, of course, and to vote based on such, but it’s ridiculous to think that it’s communism or government overreach when an analogous policy is enacted by Biden.

Before he got to the swipes at Trump and those who support him, wbtravis's response was good as far as it went. Except he said those being called RINOs have always been Republicans.earendel wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2024 7:44 amflock and others use this term a lot. I know it stands for "Republicans in name only", but that raises the question of what, exactly, it takes to be a "real" Republican and not a RINO. I have a feeling that many revered Republicans of the past would fall into the RINO category these days, but in order to be certain, I'd like to know what the criteria are.
My home county in Texas used to be a single-party Democrat county. In 2002, the County flipped to a one-party Republican County. Before that year, every single countywide officeholder was a Democrat. After that year, every countywide office was held by a Republican.
After 2002, people who had been Democrats their entire lives started running for office as Republicans because it was the only way they could get elected. Those people were quite literally RINOs, but they were still able to get elected because the run of the mill voter just doesn't care. Also, several people who had always voted in the Democratic primaries suddenly started voting in the Republican primary.
To those of us who were Republicans before 2002, it was disheartening to see people who had never shared our values getting selected as our nominees.
It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities. —Albus Dumbledore

Good to see you.
I’m guessing that I didn’t say that people being called RINOS have always been Republicans. But, if I did, then you are correct that I was wrong about that.
I’m curious about your take on where we should stand as a country now with respect to Putin.
