Defense Secretary Hegseth (God, I love typing that that) kicked off his morning by working out with the Green Beret in Germany.

>>>"Pete Hegseth kicked off his day in Germany training with the elite Green Berets of 1/10 SFG, one of the U.S. Army’s most formidable Special Forces units.
Never seen a US Secretary of defense do this before ."<<<<
I haven't served, but I get a lot of how troops think and their humor and so forth and I have been chuckling this morning about the Navy Seals and Marine Recon and such going on about "The Green Beret-those F'in P____ies; why doesn't he come here-we would give him a real workout."
Apparently, one of his workout partners is a mountain of a man who won the internet for today.

Some A-Hole on the web was bitching about how working out with the troops wasn't his job-he is supposed to be in high-level meetings and such. Um, maybe he can do both. Early morning workout and then maybe meetings.

You will never/ever be able to keep Hegseth away from the tactical type people.
But, those are his people and that is the fun part of the job for him.
I will bet you that the part of his job we aren't seeing involve him hard-core with Navy stuff. That is the problem area and the hardest to fix with long lead times and such and the highest risk (other than a nuclear attack and such.
You lose a carrier-you lose 5,000 sailors in a morning.
If anybody is interested, The "School of War" podcast that I listen to has several episodes over time about Naval issues with at least one very recent one that was pretty good,

I haven't yet got to Episode 172 on the Warship Production Crisis.

But I have listened to Episode 169 on Naval Warfare in 2025

Previous SecDefs also workout out with the troops. Here’s Mark Esper:

It boosts morale, and they all found time in between meetings.
