Fentanyl precursors are smuggled in, I believe. I don't think fentanyl comes in bottles labeled 'Fentanyl'. I would think it would be difficult to put a tarriff on that. Or maybe I'm mistaken. You're supposedly in the medical field. And I guess on the front lines in the drug war. Silly me.Weyoun wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 9:43 amIt’s possible he went to talk to Trump to explain how big an idiot Trump was beingflockofseagulls104 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2024 6:51 pmWell here's the well-respected leader of Canada.....
Where did he go right away?
Tariffs seem to get some results....
I’m confused, by the way. Maybe you can help me, though I have low expectations - if we can jack up tariffs to increase American industry to keep Mexican products out, wouldn’t the same logic apply to fentanyl?
Just seems kind of strange to crash the economy and worsen inflation because we’re scared of a product that certainly can be made domestically, and has a group of adherents who will go out of their way to sell it, buy it, and use it.
Just a thought from someone on the front lines of the drug war. I’m sure you know better than me, though, since you spend more time on X.
There is probably some other way to address this, even from a multifactorial standpoint. It’s disappointing to me to hear that the only way we’re addressing this terrible drug is to throw up a bunch of tariffs that make like difficult for all of us. I thought that wacko who was gonna be head of HHS was going to break the establishment or something and suggest some crazy idea, like widespread detoxification programs.
Oh, wait, that’s some Nancy thing that liberals would do. Never mind!
As far as I know, the only thing the left likes to do is what they did in Washington when I lived there. Open up shoot up clinics so addicts have a sterile place and helpers to help them inject themselves. Their only problems were finding a place to open them, and the fact that the pushers now knew exactly where to open up shop. Other than that, a wonderful and compassionate idea.
I am a moron, so I don't know what the answer to the drug problem is. That is to be expected. But to keep on doing the same shit over and over again to find the problem getting worse is the definition of insanity. And to do things that cannot help make the problem worse is corruption. So why not try something different?
