Federal prosecutors have indicted Senator Bob Menendez and his wife on charges of accepting bribes from New Jersey businessmen (who were also indicted) and then using his influence to protect their business interests.
Menendez had previously been in indicted in New Jersey on other bribery and corruption charges in 2015 (who was President then?) but a 2017 trial ended in a mistrial due to a hung jury. The judge later acquitted Menendez of some of the charges, and the Justice Department dropped the case in 2018 (who was President then?)a
Menendez denies the current charges. He's up for re-election in 2024.
Curse that weaponized Department of Justice!! There's one standard for Democrats and another for Republicans in this country.
