It's either Saturday Night Live or Monty Python. I will go with SNL.etaoin22 wrote:Q2 - TO SET SOME OLD FASHIONED PROPER TYPE B AND G Q'S

well, this is fascinating.
B - SNL of course.
G - The boys on CJAD trivia show on Sunday a few weeks back, accepted "toile" for what probably "tulle" is the better answer. Completely different etymologies, one a common noun and one named after a city in France.
I shall have to learn more. But not that much.
14-10.

Saturday Night (I don't think the show officially became Saturday Night Live until a later season)

Taffita (darling)?

I think toile is a type of fabric. Kinda has landscape-y patterns. My sister-in-law has it all over the freakin' house, and I think it looks like crapola.
I learned about toile from Trading Spaces...

There is something wrong in a government where they who do the most have the least. There is something wrong when honesty wears a rag, and rascality a robe; when the loving, the tender, eat a crust while the infamous sit at banquets.

In my opinion, the boys on CJAD were completely wrong. Toile is usually considered to be a cotton or cotton-like fabric printed with medallions of small scenes such as buildings or landscapes. It's used for upholstery, wall-covering, and or bed linens.etaoin22 wrote:well, this is fascinating.

Here you go.T_Bone0806 wrote:Tulle? What the heck is tulle?
Does it rhyme with fool, 'cuz that's what I feel like.
Or is it pronounced "tooley", or "Tull", as in Jethro?
Do you pay it at the "tulle booth" whilst travelling?

Crinkly plastic bags? Nope, no interest whatsoever. Tulle, on the other hand, is her favourite thing to play in and wrestle with. I grabbed this shot while trying to capture her attacking the deadly pink stuff... darned if she didn't look all adorable... little beast.
