G: Tulle? Something like that.
There is something wrong in a government where they who do the most have the least. There is something wrong when honesty wears a rag, and rascality a robe; when the loving, the tender, eat a crust while the infamous sit at banquets.

It's either Saturday Night Live or Monty Python. I will go with SNL.

I always thought that was the stuff I put on dishes of leftovers before I stick 'em in the fridge?

well, this is fascinating.

B - SNL of course.

G - The boys on CJAD trivia show on Sunday a few weeks back, accepted "toile" for what probably "tulle" is the better answer. Completely different etymologies, one a common noun and one named after a city in France.

I shall have to learn more. But not that much.

14-10.

Tulle? What the heck is tulle?

Does it rhyme with fool, 'cuz that's what I feel like.

Or is it pronounced "tooley", or "Tull", as in Jethro?

Do you pay it at the "tulle booth" whilst travelling?

I think toile is a type of fabric. Kinda has landscape-y patterns. My sister-in-law has it all over the freakin' house, and I think it looks like crapola.

I learned about toile from Trading Spaces...

In my opinion, the boys on CJAD were completely wrong. Toile is usually considered to be a cotton or cotton-like fabric printed with medallions of small scenes such as buildings or landscapes. It's used for upholstery, wall-covering, and or bed linens.

Yeah, toile would not be acceptable, it is what KT says, a cotten with landscapy pictures on it.

Taffeta is closer

Thanks.

I have not had any experience with tutus, and I'm not the ballet type (although I like Tchaikovsky's music for them), so I was clueless.

Crinkly plastic bags? Nope, no interest whatsoever. Tulle, on the other hand, is her favourite thing to play in and wrestle with. I grabbed this shot while trying to capture her attacking the deadly pink stuff... darned if she didn't look all adorable... little beast.
