I used to take the Texas Chief from Chicago to OU in Norman, OK. A great trip! Unfortunately, I was hanging out with the other college kids, and not talking to the train folk from whom I could have learned something that might help me tonight.

I took the Broadway Limited from Chicago to NYC when in grad school.

I met Pearl Bailey then. She did not like flying and had a private area on the train, don't know the story behind that part. But I been talking to a sailor during the trip who was going cross-country on the train had been on the train all the way from CA.

In NYC she stopped by to say good by to 'Navy' when we were talking in NYC. Apparently they had also struck up a conversation during the trip.

The type which was the standard type on Amtrak, when Amtrak was using "Heritage" otherwise known as nearly 100% worn out equipment from the forties and early fifties.

10 roomettes (one person with his or her own little toilet). 6 bedrooms.

Dobos torte is originally from Hungary, although I suspect that in a game in which the points were hotly cotested, someone would point out "Yes, but the Austro-Hungarian Empire was one entity then".

Since it is from Hungary, the s gets the Sh pronunciation. Or close to it.
