FNGD Q2 - FRIDAY OCTOBER 31, 2008

I gotta be careful jeemied again

B - So, as daniel asked, how many days until pitchers and catchers report?

G - Here is a question on human motivations, so it becomes a logically "G" question, right?

The NYY human and organizational response to the challenge of missing the post-season will be:

1 - Wish the Rays well, and think, "better luck for us next year"
2 - Fire the manager
3 - Firewall the owning family from direct participation in baseball affairs
4 - Put as much new money as possible into scouting, farm system and player development
5 - Try to buy and sign Burnett and Ramirez and Texiera all of em.

B -- WAG -- 136.

G -- Okay, I think I can narrow it down to 2 and 5. I will guess 5 -- Try to buy the standout players.

B: Depends which team. Roughly 110.

G: Well, they won't fire Girardi, and Hank will be shooting his mouth off (when he doesn't have a cigarette in it), for quite some time, so it'll actually be 1 AND 5 (except you forgot Sabathia, and I PRAY they don't go after Manny)

I decided to choose an answer for the first part by searching mlb.com and news.google.com, and while the mlb site hasnt chosen yet to put milestone days up at least where I could figure out. Cleveland will have pitchers and catchers report on Feb 12 and I doubt anyone will be earlier. This makes...

31+31+30+12

104 days.

Yanks will NOT do anything except go after the big names. Ramirez they shouldnt but they will. Sabathia would be the best fit, but he also would for anyone.

Ramirez would fit remarkably well with the Blue Jays, but I am sure it will never hjappen.

A billion points for all sides stll.
