Transcript Thread Procedure

It has been decided that while many prefer to have a separate forum to hold all of the new SyndieBAM transcripts, it is also better for the transcript threads to be exposed to the main posting Bored for full exposure and to stimulate conversation and other wackiness we typically have around here.

To satisfy both of these desires, the new routine for the handling of transcript threads will be as follows:

The individual members of the BBTranscriptTeam may post their transcripts in either (but not both to avoid having dual threads) the Transcript forum or the Main forum.

*If the transcripts are posted in the Transcript forum, I (or another moderator) will move them to the Main forum, leaving the shadow thread behind, as early as possible (Hopefully no later than mid-morning the next day).

*If the transcripts are posted in the Main forum, I (or another moderator) will move them to the Transcript forum, without leaving a shadow thread behind, then from the Transcript forum move them back to the Main forum, leaving the shadow thread behind on the Transcript forum.

While the threads will read "Moved" on the message list, they are still accessable from the message list and will show all replies that are made on the Main forum. While the thread itself will exist on the Main Bored, and will only bump forward on the Main Bored, the transcript threads will nonetheless be viewable and will accept replies from both forums. This has the added benefit of keeping the transcripts as they appear in the Transcript forum in their proper order and not in the order of their last reply.

Also, all non transcript threads started on the Transcript forum will be moved to the Main forum. If you are visiting here for the first time, please go to the Forum Index and stop by the Bored Posts forum if you wish to discuss something outside of the transcript threads. And even if you don't, stop by anyway....

Since the Transcript Team is a moderator here, I think anyone who posts the transcripts here can move them immediately, leaving a shadow thread behind. --Bob

The Transcript Team is only a moderator in the Show Transcripts forum, so that means posting in that one---errr, this one--and moving it to the Bored Posts forum, right?

This is actually a really good idea, and I wish I had thought of it before. This allows the transcripts to be integrated into the main part of the Bored while still listing them here for those who don't want to wade through everything else. Very nice.

And yes, I gave the BBTranscriptTeam ID moderator rights inside this forum only. Anyone using that ID can move posts to any other forum. If you accidentally move them to the Suggestion Box or the FNGD forum, they'll have to wait until an administrator (admins have moderator rights in every forum, whether they're listed as a moderator or not) can move them again.

For those using the BBTranscriptTeam ID, in case you don't know how to do this.....when logged in with that name and viewing the Transcripts forum, you will see a link at the bottom right of the page that says "You can moderate this forum." Click on that, and then you'll be presented with a list of posts. Select each post you want to move (create all of your transcript posts first, so you can move them all at once) and then click the Move button at the bottom right. Make sure that "WWTBAM Bored Posts" is selected in the dropdown menu, and leave the "shadow post" check box checked. Click Yes, and you're done.

When I do the transcripts I will post them in the transcript place and leave it to someone else to do the "moving". Since I can't figure out the avatar, me doing the "moving" is out of the question.

For future Transcript Team members, the board seems to have gotten a slight makeover in the past decade, and the link is now in the upper right-hand corner of the page, labeled "Moderator Control Panel" (thank goodness for Ctrl-F!) :-)

Help me WWTBAM Bored mods, you're my only hope.

I was catching up on the 2+ months of backlogged episodes on my DVR and somehow, I posted a few episodes directly in the WWTBAM Bored Posts thread instead of this WWTBAM Show Transcripts one:

Transcript 02/05/18 David Gold (Whiz Kids Week)
Transcript 02/19/18 Maddie Schwarz
Transcript 02/15/18 Tyrone Kelley
Transcript 02/12/18 Martin Kunz

Is there any way to copy them into the right board and then move them back? If they didn't already have comments, I'd just delete them and copy/paste the threads in the right board...
