EEEENNNNNOOOOOUUUUGGGGHHHHH!!!!!
Enough with the 'this guy's tainted because he once voted Republican/Democratic' and is now working for McCain/Obama.
Enough with the ever having a past and thus unsuitable for public office or working on the campaign of a politician. (Who the hell will do it if you that? Why the hell would anybody want to do it? Why would any upright, reasonably intelligent citizen want to serve in government if the process to get them in - Senate confirmation - is used to highlight the most miniscule detail that is really nobody's business yet is trumpeted from the loudest speaker for the world to hear?
Due to having a past, I would never consider any kind of public office or service. Why should anyone except the dregs we do get want to run? You'd have to be a narcissit (sp?) or deranged to want to put up with it. Guess that explains much)
Enough with the "Oh yeah, well what about this?" to every stupid misspeak any of the candidates make?
Enough of the extremism.
Enough of the personal attacks.
Enough of the bored being inundated with political crap.
Enough of the smarmy talking heads on either side presenting their opinions as 'news.'
Geez, that felt good!

Hi Fly!
Welcome to the Lounge!
Since you are new here, I'll whip something up for you.
What is your preference? Sweet, spicy, savoury?
We could have an afternoon of bar snacks. It would go well with the comedy routine. And if we don't like it we can throw peanuts!

It's not just here. It's the incessant 24/7, cable news, newspapers, radio, office, the Emmys (the Emmys, for gawds sake! If there's any place other than MSNBC that I wouldn't rely on for anything, it would be a Hollywood actor/director/producer.).
I'd be all for a 45 day campaign limit.
What I fear, but expect, is that the day after the election, candidate X, Y, or Z will announce "I am a candidate for the nomination for President for 2012."
It was bad enough with Hillary, Obama, the multitude of Republicans, et al who announced 18 months ago, but it will only get worse.
Barkeep, I'll have a double and keep 'em coming....

Do you think peanut throwing will be necessary? After all, he's been able to practice his material on all those kids!christie1111 wrote:We could have an afternoon of bar snacks. It would go well with the comedy routine. And if we don't like it we can throw peanuts!

I've stopped watching TV live. I've also stopped reading about it in the newspaper. I am so sick of the election.Flybrick wrote:It's not just here. I hope everybody else enjoys the cookies. I'm eating all the brownies. I deserve them.PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:I just made 11 dozen cookies and a dozen browies, I am totally up for a party!
(Okay, I can't remember exactly why I deserve them, but I'm sure there's a perfectly good reason, and while I'm thinking of it, I have very sharp elbows to keep everybody else back. Mine, mine, MINE!)

This is why I only watch baseball or the digital music channels. Nobody's found a way yet to sneak in a political jab in the middle of my 80's music.....
