Have you a spare brain?

#1 Post by Beebs52 » Tue Sep 23, 2008 11:57 am

Here's why I couldn't get onto the internets from Wednesday on. I failed to plug the phone jack into the dsl box. Everything else was hooked up except that.

Seriously.
Well, then

Here's the big question: Did you figure that out on your own or did you have one of those legendary chats with a tech support person?

Today's Episode, Beebs Unplugged
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

I had a legendary chat with my spouse. He was quite reasoned about it all. Pity, or something like that.

He is, indeed, at times. Especially lately.
