"Trivial Pursut: America Plays"

I just watched the first two shows. I was not impressed. The gameplay is too slow. There's little energy and no suspense. The questions are pretty easy too. "5th Grader" is better.

Cousin Leonard sent out an email to his friends and family last night letting us know about the show.

I'm surprised you're still watching this show.

:)

Jebbers sent me an email specifically to tape it.

The first episode in my market had the first viewer question come from a person in my town that I don't know. Also, America's Team captain was from Placentia, CA, and many of her family members also have been on game shows. But it wasn't PlacentiaSoccerMom.

I caught part of yesterday's show and without knowing the rules it was hard to know what was going on - the whole "studio team vs. America's team" thing, for instance.

If a player get the answer right, the studio team gets the money, otherwise the America's team does.

I got an email from Trivial Pursuit. No, they haven't picked me as a contestant (arrggh)... but, they are going to use one of my questions on today's show. I have no idea which one they'll use; there were more than a few to pick from, as I ended up going back a second time with my son, who decided to get in on the action. Hopefully they'll use one of his questions on some future show.

At the end of the game, if the "America's Team" has more money in their bank than the contestants' bank, we all get to split the pot. It won't be much, probably under a grand, but certainly better than nothing! So, fingers crossed. :) Ironically, I'll be out driving carpool at 3pm when it airs here, so will need to fire up the good ol' VCR.

Hey, if anyone catches this show earlier in the day (it airs at 9:30am in some markets in the midwest, such as St. Louis and southern Illinois), could you please post the results here? I'm not a big surprise person, so won't mind hearing early whether or not I'll get to pad my wallet a bit for the holidays. 8)

We get two shows per day here. How will I know which one you're on?

I dunno... I assume it's the first one. That's so weird though, I know. We get two here also.

Congratulations on the fact that they used your question.

We aren't even allowed to have them use our questions. :(

We are still watching the show. The game play is slow, but watching isn't too horrible.

I personally find the show more watchable than 5th Grader.

I just noticed yesterday that Trivial Pursuit has replaced Crosswords on WSYR, immediately following SyndieBAM (where it conflicts with J!). I watched some of it while talking on the phone with MarleysSister.

It does seem slow to me, with all those videotaped introductions of the public reading their questions. A lot of the questions seemed obscure and not strictly following the six category format of the board game. And there's one person on camera somewhere representing "America's Team" whose job it is simply to laugh and emote a lot every time the "Studio Team" contestants miss a question?

I TiVo them and can watch everything in 15 minutes.

I heard from my MIL who saw watched show this morning. I wasn't on it.
Spoiler
Good thing, I suppose, since she said that the "America's Team" lost.
Perhaps she nodded off momentarily and missed me, a distinct possibility which she adamantly denies... lol. They only air one show per day there, so perhaps my spot will air in those markets on Monday instead, but will still be on one of the double airings everywhere else today? Whatever. I'll watch later and see... This is getting too confusing. And now I'll need to send out another email to the 9,000 friends and family whose time I've wasted today. That is, if I can even figure out what I'm writing to explain...

Did you put in a good word for a fellow BB'er who auditioned for this show??? Waiting in the wings while the Wall Street buzzards attack! :x

My son and I taped a few questions at a mall in Frisco, TX. He was excited about the prospect of being on TV even though I don't think either of us composed or read our questions for the camera very well. But it's good to know that they will send an e-mail to us if one of our questions does happen to make it on the air.

Just got a call from BFF in Chicago. My clip was on the second show; I assume this episode will now be airing Monday in the markets that have only one show per day.
Spoiler
My wallet will not be expanding from this experience. 8)

I am not mentioning anyone that I know because that would make you ineligible.
