Answers and Points Timeline, Game 16, Monday September 22

#1 Post by Here's Fanny! » Mon Sep 22, 2008 7:13 am

Gues what, everybody? It's fall! Or, as snooty people like to refer to it, autumn.

Today's Timeline is about my favourite season, a straightforward Monday version. Just name the year and you can spend the rest of the day brushing up on your JJ Cale trivia.

Scoring: Bullseye - 10 points
Oh So Close (+/- 2 years) - 5 points
Kinda Sorta Close (+/- 4 years) - 3 points
Nice try (correct decade) - 1 point

Timeline - September 22

"Straight As"

1. ABC's The Fall Guy, starrring Lee Majors, begins it's 5 season run on television.

2. Albert Fall, former New Mexico Senator and Secretary of the Interior is found guilty and sentenced to one year in prison for his part in the Teapot Dome scandal.

3. Alicia Keys' song Fallin' wins Song of the Year at the Grammy Awards (and she gets Best New Artist).

4. Andrew Borden, along with his wife, takes some whacks in Fall River, Massachusetts, for which his daughter Lizzie has taken the historical fall.

5. Annie Taylor becomes the first person to go over Niagara Falls in a barrel.

6. Arthur Miller's play After the Fall opens in New York under the direction of Elia Kazan.

And, for those who insist upon saying "Autumn",

7. Autumn gets its very own ode (a sure sign you've made it) when John Keats composes "To Autumn".

8. Autumn in New York, a lighthearted romp starring Richard Gere and Winona Ryder, is released.

9. Autumn Leaves, a piano instrumental performed by Roger Williams takes over the number one spot on Billboard's chart for four weeks.

Bonus (10 points): What was the name of the stunt man/bounty hunter played by Lee Majors in The Fall Guy?

5 Point Extra: So what's with the title today?

Kay was the only one to hit this right on. The actual scandal hit the news big in 1921-23, but the investigation took most of the decade and he wasn't convicted until 1929.

3. Alicia Keys' song Fallin' wins Song of the Year at the Grammy Awards (and she gets Best New Artist).

2000

I don't know why I like this movie so much. It's hackneyed, I don't like Winona Ryder and I don't like Richard Gere very much. Although has anybody seen The Hoax? That movie rocked!
