But do they have ESPN up there? Auburn more than doubled their point output from last week. They lead LSU 7-0 in the first half.

I then woke up and got ready for the Viking game.


It was a very enjoyable weekend. A lovely dinner Saturday night (Bank was the restaurant name) and a light breakfast at my daughter's apartment Sunday morning.

Thank you Skoop for initiating the idea of the Panthers/Vikings game. Thanks Kay for joining in the fun--you were just like I imagined from your posts--a real gem.

Thanks AD (and kayak--Saturday night) for transportation help to my daughter's apartment.

Both daughter's said they had a very good time and said this, "gee dad, they all seemed normal to us". Well, myabe not those exact words but they said they enjoyed themselves. They really were happy and glad to meet some of my BBs.


Sorry Skoop but Jenny and I giggled a couple of times on the ride back to Fargo. We wondered how many times you "heard" the Skol Vikings! song rolling around in your head the rest of the day.


I don't have pictures, but I think Kay will post some when she gets home late tonight I think.

And I am back home, safe and sound if somewhat exhausted. It was a weekend well spent, what with getting to meet up again with Kusch, Skoop and Kayak - and finally getting to meet Kay as well as Kusch's (dare I say) lovely daughters.

I had hoped to get out of work at 2 PM Saturday, which would have given me ample time to get to my hotel, check in, and clean up by 6 or so. Of course, Saturday turned out to be hectic at work, and I was there all by myself answering three phone lines in addition to doing my own job. By 2:30, I figured that I had best get out of there before I started getting ornery with the customers. I now had to make up some time to get back on schedule. If you were on the old Bored a few years back, you may recall that I have no qualms about resorting to Extreme Measures to get somewhere on time as necessary. Fortunately, these measures were not required this time around; I set the cruise at 75 (the freeway speed limit in Wisconsin being an inexplicable 65) and I was on my way.

I got to the hotel right about 6, encountering a couple of minor delays along the way - as well as a couple of law enforcement officers (neither of whom appeared to have any particular interest in me; sometimes it is helpful to drive an Old Fart-type car). I had spoken to Kusch on the way, and he told me that the gang was planning on a 7 PM meet-up at he hotel where our Southern belles were staying, which worked out perfectly.

When we finally assembled, the first question was "where do we want to eat?" The younger members of the Kusch clan suggested the restaurant located right where we were assembled. The place was called Bank (it was built in a former bank lobby; the wine cellar was in the old vault - you get the idea). Whether the girls were trying to curry favor with Dad on that one is open to debate; nevertheless, it was a very good call - the food was excellent as was the company, to kindasorta steal a line from Kay.

Sunday morngin. Ahh, yes...the most peaceful time of the week. Unless you are riding in a car with a crazed cheesehead who is trying to keep up with the various permutations of Hennepin Avenue en route to breakfast with the Kusches. I had warned Skoop and Kay to be prepared for some very un-Sunday-type language, and I did not let them down. Suffice it to say that 1) it had been years since I had driven this stretch, 2) I did not learn my lesson the first time, and 2A) although Kusch had warned me, I had completely forgotten how Hennepin decided - on its own, I assume - to follow several side streets between point A and point B. Nevertheless, we all arrived none the worse for the wear, enjoyed a delicious breakfast, and then picked up our tickets before heading to the game.
