....or what's left of it.

Now they're teling me that I don't have coverage for flood. I have a huge mess on my hands.

Got one room half way cleaned today. You can't go inside for more than 10 minutes or so without getting sick from the smell.

I'm on a public computer at the library. Both mine are trashed.

I don't know when I'll get back on the internet again. The reason I'm on now is to take care of some business I have on Ebay.

Talk to ou soon.

What did I miss? Was there a recent flood in St. Louis? Sorry to hear about your damage and difficulties. I hope everything gets resolved soon and your life gets back to normal.

What was left of Ike roared through here Sunday morning. Three feet of water in my house. Everything ruined.

Let us know if there is a need. We'll do what we can. Seriously. I know it must be very frustrating for you and your family.

Rising water (aka flood) is not covered on a basic homeowners policy. Very few people have flood insurance, particularly if you don't live in a flood zone.
Not many people realize that it's not part of the regular policy.

I'm sorry to hear that Ray.

We didn't get the flooding as bad over here, but my Sunday was certainly not much better thanks to what Ike wrought in the form of winds....

Rayx--I am so sorry. You've gotten hit worse than many of us in the direct path.

I'm so sorry.

I'm also listening to a radio report about coastal Texas people who got flooded a full day before the forecast said. So much for planning. Either no warning, or a wrongly-timed warning.

I'm so sorry to hear this....after getting flooded in TS Allison several years ago, I know how traumatic this can be. I was a renter, but our homeowner did not have flood insurance either. I know she was able to get a small portion covered under her regular policy; for a corner of the house where water obviously came through the roof. For the rest, FEMA helped, but I don't know how much she was able to get from them. FEMA gave us renters some money as well for the 'necessary' items that were damaged or destroyed.

I have been very surprised at how much damage this storm caused in places so far inland. Our area here in Cleveland has had a lot of wind damage. We have a very large tree down in the back, as does a neighbor. The neighbor's tree missed their house by inches. I've heard that some neighborhoods here are still without power. Ike was one mean storm, for sure.

Hang in there. I hope the cleanup goes well and that you're able to get some assistance. Check with the Red Cross as well.
