Five minutes and counting.
To be precise, the message was that she's about to get into the Hot Seat. I assume that means that she started the show in the On Deck slot and I got the call as the previous player was leaving the Hot Seat. Still, I imagine by now she's under way.

By now, I hope she's completed the lower tier, received her Ask the Expert lifeline, and begun negotiating the middle tier.

A fringe benefit of the clock, I'd imagine. They can probably time the shows somewhat more precisely because they know they can't edit out any of the question-and-answer time. --Bob (breathing on his own since 1961)

By now, she should be comfortably ensconced in the middle tier. I'm guessing she may be a Monday-Tuesday carryover contestant.

I hope this means she's making one hell of a run, but more likely it's a between-shows taping break.
