He had a pretty easy question, and saved the contestant from disaster. I thought the video looked a lot more jerky than it did for Bill Nye. Maybe Ogi was moving around more than Bill did.

Skype with video uses a lot of bandwidth. Ogi was probably on a relatively slow connection.

Wouldn't you think that winning the Million and getting to have Ogi as an expert would make you happier then winning the Million without getting to speak to Ogi?

I openly admitted that I accidentally made a post as one of my Merry Men just last week.

Last night as we are watching yesterdays episode of WWTBAM - mostly because it was the first episode that my wife and I were at the taping for and to see if we could catch a glimpse of ourseleves - when the expert was introduced, my youngest, Sophie, who is 9, yells out in an excited voice "IT'S OGI!'

I was amazed. Granted she was at two days of tapings (the one I was scheduled for and the one I actually taped on) - but that was nearly 2 months ago. No offense to Ogi, but he hasn't been the conversation around our house nor is his pictured plastered all over. When I asked how she knew Ogi (since Ogi was not my expert) she said she remembered him from the shows she saw and that he is really funny and smart.

Granted Sophie is my little movie buff, she doesn't care for most current films because they are too predicatable - she loves Harold Lloyd and Buster Keaton. Recently she was doubled over in laughter over Bringing Up Baby and has been watching The Shop Around the Corner. But her favorite is Alfred Hitchcock - The Birds, North By Northwest, The Man Who Knew Too Much, even Psycho. Last year when she was 8, we were at a park in north Austin that we hadn't visited before, and it had a multi-story playhouse that was probably around 20-25 feet high with a wooden staircase the wound its way up the interior. When we went in Sophie told me she was going to run up the stairs and I was to follow her but always stay at somewhat behind, so we did and when she got to the top and she let out a scream. She was playing 'Vertigo' with me in the Jimmy Stewart part. It probably had been nearly a year since I last watched it and she had been watching it with us off and on and I didn't even think she remembered it - but when she saw the staircase it reminded her of the movie and that scene so she wanted to reinact it.

To this day I'm really not sure what to make of an 8 year old who likes to play 'Vertigo'.

Not questioning her memory ability at all, but I suspect his name is the type that's more likely to stick in a child's mind.

I'm not too fond of Bringing Up Baby--too contrived. But I think my 9 year old would enjoy The Man Who Knew Too Much. I only have the first version he did, but I want the Jimmy Stewart one.

While BUB is not my favorite screwball comedy and I actually prefer 'What's Up, Doc" which is either a homage, remake or a ripoff depending on your opinion, nor is it even close to my favorite Howard Hawks movie, that honor belongs to His Girl Friday, I knew Sophie would love it based on her taste, the broad nature of its comedy and her love of animals, especially dogs. She was literaly doubled-over in laughter at BUB.

OMG--I LOVED What's Up Doc when I was that age! I just got some books I used to like and my son just started one for a book report, so now I'll hunt down some of the movies, too. We already have It's a Mad etc World, and the kids like that one.

Actually, it's my big googly eyes and rubbery mouth that stick in a child's mind. And the fact that I'm often seen ringing a bell and crying, "Ice Cream! Ice Cream!"

Children and small animals do have a habit of following me around. I auditioned for the lead role of "Enchanted," and they said that except for the fact that I can't sing, dance, or act, and wasn't female, they would have given me the part.
