5th Grader thread

Lest someone think that I've stopped watching this show...

First contestants were a pair of identical twins.
Spoiler
They walked with $175K when they didn't want to guess the answer to the following 5th Grade Science question:
In the radio frequency abbreviation "AM," the "A" stands for the word Amplitude. What word does the "M" stand for?

It was a good thing they didn't try to use their Copy or Save, because Bryce's answer was "morning". The twins had also been thinking of the time "AM" instead of the radio "AM".
Then TPTB decided that twins weren't enough of a gimmick, so the next contestant was the mother of quintuplets. And all of her college-age quints appeared as an extra set of classmates, so she could choose either the regular 5th graders or her own kids to help her.
Spoiler
She answered four questions and returns next week.

I figured TPTB were going to show that Okies are "dumber than a box of hammers". The fact that they had to use a cheat on the very first question added to my fears. Fortunately the twins rallied to end up with a fair chunk of change.

One thing I wondered (and not for the first time) is whether the posters that are shown in the audience are actually brought in by the audience members or whether they're produced by the show staff and distributed randomly as people enter the studio.

She answered four questions and returns next week.
And for the first question she chose her youngest, and she didn't know the answer.
Spoiler
("What joint joins the leg and the foot?", with the daughter saying "a tendon".)
It now appears that Jenna is the flirt of the fifth-grade class.

I missed the first few minutes of the show. Was that the multiple choice music question that used the title America instead of the more commonly know My Country, Tis of Thee? I could see how that might throw someone, if they started recalling the lyrics to America the Beautiful, instead.

BTW, The Daily Game Show Fix mentioned that Jeff Foxworthy has signed on to host a syndicated version of 5th Grader, starting in the fall of 2009.

I'm pretty sure this show won't be using a Phone Game. :|

Yes. However the twins focused on "You're a Grand Old Flag" to the exclusion of any of the others, although they did briefly mention "America" (but confused it with "America the Beautiful").
