No-hitter for Zambrano

#1 Post by danielh41 » Sun Sep 14, 2008 8:27 pm

Well, I'm glad I got my son up to watch it. First Cubs no-hitter since 1972...

Congrats to Carlos Zambrano.

But, did they hold the Sausage Race?

That would have been the key!

This sucks. This was suppose to be a home game for the Astros, but instead Dickhead Selig makes it a home game for the Cubs. Mark my words, this will come back to haunt the Cubs as a new curse.

They could have played the game at Round Rock and kept it a home game for the Astros.

They could have played it in Atlanta.

But noOOOOOOO! They played it at Wrigley Field North.

That's O.K. Cubs will not make it past the Division series as the new curse takes effect.

Please. Like this is the Cubs' fault.

I'll take our front 4 against anybody.

NO....

FUCKING...

WAY!!!!

I'm fighting for a playoff spot in the BBBL, and a dead-armed pitcher who wasn't even probably supposed to start last week threw me a no hitter on my bench!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I have been out of the loop since about 11:30 yesterday morning due to a series of unfortunate events that are continuing to unfold, but so much for trying to lift my spirits coming here. I can't believe this at all......

I almost made the road trip to Milwaukee to see Z pitch. I gave up cuz the roads around us were bad. I wish I had gotten out the canoe for the trip!

Sorry, LB. But it was thrilling to watch. I feel sorry for Houston though since they are in the hunt for the wild card. They'll be up against Hardin today as well.

NO sausage race. My fellow teacher went up last night and said no score cards were available for posterity as well. Good brats though. . .

I just checked.

Zambrano's no-hitter woulda put me in the BBBL playoffs....

As it is... I finished in a three way tie for the last playoff spot, and I lose pretty much every tiebreaker there is....

Oh well, that's the least of my worries this morning....

No, I am posting from my "secret location" at my Grandparents house, where I'm spending the morning. I have no cable or internet at home, but at least the power's on....

I don't want to discuss it, but yesterday was horrific, let's just say that....

I may go tomorrow, or maybe not. Who knows.......

This time you overdid it a bit on the weather thing, didn't you?

I'm very sorry it came during your vacation, I mean it. :(

Holy. Shit. Fire is my "thing" since we had a fire when I was 14. I'll leave the doors unlocked, but the toaster and iron get uplugged the second I finish using them. :(

Sparks were shooting through the sky when I ran out the front door.... and the lines are all in the back....

It's amazing I wasn't electrocuted since I was told by the firemen that the whole place was energized....

At least the place never did catch fire. That's about the only good news out of the whole thing....

Are the appliances all fried? We had a nearby lightning strike and it messed up the sprinkler system, alarm, and garage door opener, and totally toasted the cable, which happened to be under the driveway and took three weeks to fix. And that didn't even hit the house!

Everything seems OK. Even the computer, which I had on at the time, survived. I colored one whole picture and touched up a couple more while fruitlessly waiting to see if the cable company was gonna repair their line yesterday....

How much of your family is still in the area? Are they high and dry and unfried as well?

We are all high and dry.

I just happen to get my power supply from the worst transformer in the history of electricity. They've only had to change it out 3 or 4 times in the last decade....

I watched them raise it when they had to replace it after the big storm 2 years ago (Which I invoked hours before everything went to hell yesterday.... ha!). It's still up there now, so that obviously wasn't the problem this time (Although I'd swear that's what I heard blow up). Something caused the lines running from that pole to the secondary pole to snap and fry, though.....

And why did we have to hijack a thread congratulating the worst burning I ever got by any player in my team's history.....?

Of course, if Dusty Dumbass Baker wouldn't have used Aaron Harang for 67 pitches and 9K's in extra innings waaaaay back in June to give the Fish a come-from-behind win over me, this would be a non-issue.....

I already tried to invoke KittySandwich in the Top 10 thread, but it wouldn't let me log in. Then, it wouldn't let me log back in as lb13 without closing the window and starting again. So no MM's today....

Boy am I glad I don't have dial up at home....

The WTVT was faster than dial up.....

And now I am going to lunch and back home. I may be back this evening, or not....

Either way, I will stop at 3333 posts, half of 6666 and three times 11:11. I don't believe in luck, but I'm willing to try anything at this point.....
