I flew home yesterday...

#1 Post by 15QuestionsAway » Fri Sep 12, 2008 2:02 pm

...from Montreal to LA, despite the auspicious date.

I am not afraid. Don't be afraid and don't let the bastards make you feel constant fear.

BTW, a well made poutine is a wonderful thing.

I think he talking about the TSA :)
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

I've been out all afternoon on Auburn's campus getting Chapman's photo taken in his little Auburn football uniform. In 90 degree heat!

I'm exhausted!!

that was a weird post - I dunno what happened....

but he was cute as a button. I should have lost at least 3 lbs from the exertion it took getting him there, keeping him happy and getting him back home.

Politicians and media doing their "They're going to get us again - be afraaaaaaiiiiiddd" schtick every year at this time.

The TSA's annoying, but they've got nothing on American US/Canada border guards. I had to cross briefly into Champlain, NY while I was in Montreal. Never have I wanted to beat down someone with a Homeland Security patch so badly. On the other hand, the Canadian equivalent couldn't have been nicer.

If you're looking for a job and have a serious lust for power but no skills, border guarding may be your thing.
