End times book

#1 Post by danielh41 » Thu Sep 11, 2008 2:59 pm

I grew up in the church, so I've been told all my life that we are living in the end times. I never put much stock in it. Theologians have been saying the same thing for 2000 years. I've always been of the mind that The End will come when God wants it to, whether it is next week or ten thousand years from now.

My wife really got into the "Left Behind" series that was so popular, but I never picked one of them up. However, I did just finish a very thought-provoking non-fiction book called "Epicenter" by Joel C. Rosenberg. In it, the author barely mentions the book of Revelation. Instead, he examines the prophecy of the war of Gog and Magog in Ezekiel and compares that with current events. He makes a very strong case that the pieces are all falling into place for this war to take place very soon.

Whether you buy into his theories or not, it still makes for very interesting reading. I will certainly pay more attention to news from Russia and the Middle East now...

A book called Epicenter should be about cataclysmic earthquakes! I've predicted quite a few of them over the past couple decades, but nobody ever listens to me. They can't seem to understand that when I say there's going to be an earthquake in a certain spot next Friday, I mean there's going to be an earthquake in a certain spot sometime.... eventually.... maybe in your lifetimes...... hey, you try being a seer!
Disaster strikes December 3, 1990! You have been warned!
