Wrong flag

The U.S. men's national soccer team played Trinidad & Tobago last night in suburban Chicago in a World Cup Qualifying match. The U.S. won the game, 3-0, but there was a hilarious moment at halftime of ESPN2's coverage. Hilarious to those of us sitting in a bar in Houston anyway.

They were showing other WCQ scores from around the world and as part of their graphics they had each country's flag. No problem for England/Croatia or any other other games until they got to Italy versus Georgia.

They put up this flag for the Republic of Georgia:

instead of this flag:

Both of those Georgias changed flags recently but I'm pretty sure they didn't just swap.

Oh, yeah, Italy won the game 2-0.

Too bad the ESPN folks don't read this Bored. We've had posts about both Georgias' flags.

I think Georgian sports fans have a good sense of humor. The Georgian Olympic beach volleyball guys, who are originally from Brazil, used the nicknames Geor and Gia.
