SIL at TPIR taping as we speak

Or type in my case, read in yours.

BD informed us a short while ago that when The Price Is Right has extra tickets, it gives them to the military. So SIL is currently at the taping, with some buddies, in his Class A's, hoping to get picked. They had to spend $70 to duplicate all his ribbons and such. Why? Because he didn't expect to need them, and they're all stashed in the PODS unit after he had worn them at the wedding. Oops.

Anyway, some short term positiveness, if you please. Thanks.

Deep subject.

Sorry, headed to bed early. We heard nothing, from which I conclude that he did not "come on down". Maybe. He wasn't getting back to the base until midnight their time, so it's possible that there's good news and they spared me the scary wee-hours-of-the-morning phone call or beeping cellphone text message. Add limited Internet access so no possible e-mail, either, and I can remain at least slightly hopeful.

Update: He did not get called down. I don't know what the broadcast date will be, so we could at least look for him in the audience.

BD, however, won a freshwater pearl necklace in a raffle held during a tour of the base given to the newly arrived wives.

It sounds like they have a good spouse group. Some bases have nothing, which is sad. Although, having a bad program can be worse! A good program can help ease the transition to a new place by helping a spouse meet new friends, find out about the area and many other things.

I was also misinformed. It was not a case of extra tickets. The show is scheduled to be broadcast on Veterans Day.

Minor spoiler:
Spoiler
Someone from Fort Irwin does do well for themselves. BD was jealous.
