One more State Capital question

1 What state capital was named for a person who was born in what is now called Canada?
Juneau was named for Joseph Juneau a prospector born in 1836 in Lower Canada now Quebec

I'll go for Juneau.
The "now called Canada" bit made me wonder if it was a town that changed its name but then I decided that might just be a way of describing Quebec.
Although wouldn't it have been "Canada" when he was born there. Maybe still Lower Canada.
Hmm. Have to check the answer.

At the time of his birth it was called British North America.
The British North America Act, 1867 established the Dominion of Canada by fusing the North American British colonies of the Province of Canada, the Province of New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. The former subdivisions of Canada were renamed from Canada West and Canada East to Ontario and Quebec, respectively
