Apparently, the ACBL is going to significantly change requirements for Life Master status. The change will only be applicable to members who join on or after January 1, 2010 (or non-Life Masters who allow their membership to lapse after that date and subsequently rejoin).
The new requirement will be 500 points, of which at least 250 must be pigmented -- at least 50 gold or platinum, another 50 red, gold, or platinum, at least 75 silver, and at least 75 black. New members who reach what are now the Life Master requirements will earn the rank Advanced NABC Master. For those members, the rank of Bronze Life Master is abolished. --Bob

That does it! I'm allowing my life membership to lapse.
The new requirements are easier, right?

No, harder. The new requirements are 500 points instead of 300, with 50 gold, 50 red, and 75 silver (instead of 25 gold, 25 red, and 50 silver). --BobSportsFan68 wrote:That does it! I'm allowing my life membership to lapse.

Sigh. OK, I'll keep my membership current. All 30 points of it. Or however many I have.Bob78164 wrote:No, harder. D'oh! Missed it by that much!
I was hoping to hit this month's list of my Unit's top ten master point winners. I missed by less than a point! Aaargh!
Well, maybe I'll make it next month. --Bob
