free gift in todays paper

i thought it was a mini box of cereal at first, but it was a Pgh edition of the New Testament.
there were bios of pgh clergy in there. In the bio for an AME minister, the writer called Alleghey county the murder capital of the US of A in 1993, with 118 murders out of a population of 1.3 mill. And credited the minister for getting us out of first place with his youth work.
there is a better chance of the Stillers losing to the nuOilers than that statement being true

Especially since the spread's less than a TD, right? :)

I don't bet on football, but I'm sure you've covered lots of bets on this one, eh?

Have you posted any trash on Bix's sportsblog yet?

I'd cancel the paper.

That is how pissed I'd be to be getting a bible when I didn't ask for one.

I'd also be torn, as I would never throw out a bible.

That would really piss me off.

I know what I'd do.

I'd go all around the neighborhood and collect the unwanted bibles.

I'd take them to the paper's headquarters and leave them at the front desk.

Then, maybe I would buy a bunch or torahs and korans and bring a pile of them to them too.

I would make a freakin' big deal outta this.

I get to choose what's a big deal.

I didn't order a bible. I ordered a newspaper.

I didn't ask for one to come into my home. I am now stuck with what to do with it - I now have a problem. I would never throw away a bible, like I would throw away a catalogue.

Newspapers are not in the spreading the word of the lord business. They are newspapers.

I gotta agree with Cal here - If someone wanted to pay the paper to distrubute these why get your nose out of joint. I'd throw in the goodwill box and move on. There is alot of extraneous crap in Sunday papers.

I got no problem if they want to send me something that entitles me to a free bible.

Don't send me the bible.

I do get to choose what is a big deal to me and what gets my panties in a knot.

This one does it.

------------------

they also send promotiomal items like soap and razors and coffee.

The bible promotes a way of living(though many christian types i know skip the inconvenient parts).

the paper is a biness. They got paid to distribute the bible.

Then you should have fired them a long time ago - unless your paper is very different from the papers I've subscribed to the last 25 years.

I don't get the paper delivered. They won't deliver to my door. We buy it every day.

I would have fired them years ago if they sent me crap (or bibles) I didn't ask for.

I do think circulars are okay. I like the circulars.

you can choose to be ignorant or informed

the facist paper does advertise itself as a home delivery service of things other than news. The real paper may be moving it that direction as well.

would it make you less annoyed if the bible were separted from the paper's bag?

wtf does this have to do with the conversation?

the facist paper does advertise itself as a home delivery service of things other than news. The real paper may be moving it that direction as well.

Then if I paid for that paper, I would know what I was buying - a home delivery service that delivers things I didn't necessarily order.

would it make you less annoyed if the bible were separted from the paper's bag?

No - this isn't about things touching each other - it's about something that I would not just throw away that comes to my house.

Wonder what the response would be if they delivered condoms.
