XP service pack 3

#1 Post by themanintheseersuckersuit » Thu Sep 04, 2008 6:54 pm

just took 3 hours of my life. It wouldnot work right until I uninstalled my video adapter driver and re booted. thanks for the update MS.
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Microsoft took about two minutes of my life last night - they showed the Bill Gates-Jerry Seinfeld commerical during the football game. I replayed it to see if I missed something the first time. I didn't - I just don't get it.

and I'm buying a Mac for the holidays.

Sorry boys, no one took time from your life - you gave it to them.

I downloaded it, then didn't install it because it wanted me to back up my whole system first, and I was too lazy. Thanks for the heads-up!

I saw a new PC/Mac commercial last night. I sometimes wonder if I'm the only one who cracks up over every one of those ads in the series....

Hey, you can never go wrong with the classics! All they need to do is come out to the landfill and get me. I'm under the big Betamax over by the crushed Yugo....

I interpreted that as just creating a System Restore point, or whatever they call it. That part is very quick. I'm glad I canceled my install, though, if it's going to take hours.

I had no trouble with SP3. It did take about an hour to install.

I would strongly advise you to do a clean boot using MSCONFIG first.
