top o' the mornin'®

#1 Post by earendel » Thu Sep 04, 2008 5:21 am

Today I am at home waiting for a replacement water heater to be installed. The contractor friend from church that I mentioned yesterday put us in touch with "his guy" and "his guy" is supposed to come out some time today. Funny thing - with four sons and a daughter-in-law, any two of whom are likely to be at the house at any given time, today is one day that none of them are available to wait for the plumber.

They're probably at their friends taking a hot shower.

Just got word that the plumber should be here between 10 and 11 depending upon how the previous job progresses.

If I had a dollar for every time I've heard that in the last five months....

Don't worry. I started billing you at 5 in the morning. I might make it out there by 2:00, on Tuesday...

The plumber has arrived and the work has commenced. No estimate as to how long it will take.

And now I'm happy to report that the work is done and the heater is beginning to heat water. The plumber estimates about an hour before capacity is reached, then I get to start doing laundry, starting with the towels and other things that got wet.
