I'm surprised the Chorizo only has 11 wins. He won on May 14th & 15th when I was up there.....

It's baseball related, in the sense that non-baseball fans need a diversion while they go to a game, and the baseball PTB can annoy real fans with a sideshow exhibition.

When they play the Mets, the bullpen is the real sideshow diversion.

Oy.

Husband1111 had the Mets game on while I was in chat being silly.

They showed the Sausage Race on TV. It was hilarious. Hilarity was also found in chat.

And I did pay enough attention last night to see the Mets bring in a pitcher to face one batter. He threw one pitch, batter hit into a double play. Then they pulled the pitcher.

One pitch for the game? I mean, he did what he was supposed to do, but that was it?

How much do they pay the guy?

One pitch?

Sheesh!

I have no idea who won the game.

Hint: Not the Mets.

Presidents' Race - NON POLITICAL!!!!!

I love the Presidents' Race. Which is the same as the Sausage Race, except different.

The Phillies broadcasting crew always gets the biggest kick of the Presidents' Race when the Phillies are in Washington.

[These are dead Presidents but not the Dead Presidents with which the front office pays ballplayers.]

TR, Lincoln, Washington and Jefferson.

I believe Teddy Roosevelt has never won the Presidents' Race. The other night, it looked like Teddy kinda went over to the stands to hug people, just so he wouldn't get close to the lead.

Last night, Abe Lincoln was showboating after overtaking George Wasington.

Very funny.

Later, they showed GW in the stands, posing for pictures with Phillies fans.

Yeah, that ^#&@*(^# Salomon Torres got the loss.

I bench my boy Valverde after he has a huge week thinking he's due for a slow stretch, adn he already has 2 saves..... agsinst the already choking Cubs and my other ^#*(@^# pitcher Zambrano.

Oh well, here's to out third consecutive 13th place finish....

The Sausage race is fun but I'm peeved at the Brewers.

The Astros have been playing great lately but we can't make up any ground in the Wild Card race. Houston has won 7 in a row but are still 7.5 back.

At one point this summer the Astros won 7 in a row and lost ground on the Brewers who had won 8 in a row. Lost ground while winning 7 in a row!

The Astros had a great August and have worked their way up to 6th best in the National League but are 4th in their own division!

Sheeesh!

I really thought they'd let TR win the last race at RFK, but no joy! I wonder if they just want to show the young guy can't beat the old dudes, or what, but the Ofer is pretty humorous.

It's too bad I fell asleep in the bullpen that night.
