Who y'all picking?
Do you pick the team with the biggest spread now - like - no saving teams for later?
If you have more than one pick, do you never pick the same team for your picks in order to spread the risk, or pick one you are pretty darn sure will win for more than one?
I want some tips, peoples.
please

Oh, thank god that's what you mean. I thought it was some kind of even-ghoulier ghoul pool.

It is hard to save teams for later. The largest spreads right now are San Diego hosting Carolina, and Indianapolis hosting Chicago. Both of those scare me.
The next tier is Philly, Pittsburgh and Dallas, all of which seem safer to me.

Here's one tip I've heard for suicide pools: "Savers" are "losers."
Maybe you'll be ready to start saving in a couple weeks. Until then, you maybe need to get your feet wet and see who the likely winners and losers are this year. Often you make your best pick, or go with the biggest spread, the first week.
Here's another tip: Don't listen to anything I say about suicide pools, going out the first week the first two years I played and all. I posted something like this in passing a while back, I'll see if I can find it.
Skoop has good advice.

Here's that post:

You have helped build this movement from the bottom up, and Barack wants you to be the first to know his choice.
If you've been so helpful, you'd think he'd at least ask for your opinion, first!
Thank you, Marley! That's what I think too.
Actually I think I already told him -- Richardson.
Somebody told me last week with absolute certainty: Evan Bayh. I don't think so. I shoulda bet her.
That would have guaranteed it, sorta like my NFL winners pool.

I am playing five entries but there is no no-repeat rule in this league. I made the picks two weeks ago, before spreads were out.
New England
Dallas
Indianapolis
NY Giants
NY Jets

In the league I'm playing, I've just decided to take whoever is playing the Rams until I'm eliminated or I have to repeat a pick. While I've never played a league like this before, I think there might be worse stategies.

Made me laugh!
Can you imagine someone doing that?

Did you leave the Patriots off for a reason?

nevermind - there they are.
I have 4 picks as well - I actually have 5, but I am giving one to 'someone' who couldn't quite get it together to get 'someone's' own picks, even though that 'someone' was and is totally less than gracious about the gift - oh - I digressed, didn't I?
I am struggling with putting more than one egg in a basket.

That is a fun way to pick.
Maybe I'll have one pick that plays against the Titans.
