Well, I'll be

I many months ago posted my wish that if Obama got the nom (even though my pick at the time was still Edwards; it was that long ago I think) he would choose Biden as his Veep. This was because Biden was my "after Edwards" choice who I knew, with the record of his mouth, had to be really running for Veep, but also because I thought that Obama choosing the guy who had called him "a clean nice-looking young man", perceived as some kinda foot-in-mouth dis to previous African American candidates, like Jesse Jackson, who had had no chance during their runs, would show Obama had a least had some kind of sense of humor.
Miracle of miracles, I got my wish!
But I failed to post my other prediction, which was that McCain, in some kind of loose-cannonish "I am still the Maverick" move, would pick turncoat Lieberman (make that Turncoat Lieberman) as his Veep. Wonder of wonders, the talk today on NPR was that that was exactly McCain's wish (it doesn't take psychic powers to get to that, seeing how Lieberman has been making geopolitical corrections to McCain's remarks for months now while they tour almost hand-in-hand, poltically speakng). That is why McCain actually did pick someone the Rep convention would not lose a kidney over, Palin, with so very little vetting.
Just for the record, I do not care that her husband had a DUI 22 or whatever years ago; I'd care if he was running. And while I'm sorry that her very young daughter chose to have unprotected sex, even very young daughters from families who do tell them about birth control methods other than abstinence sometimes get pregnant anyway (& its not like the daughter, & her boyfriend, can't read); & the daughter isn't running for anything either.
It does make for talk for the talkers, though.
