As he so eloquently put it, "When you're not, you're not."

I liked his music. As for his acting: I liked his music.

"We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there," is one of our most-sung lines when on a road trip...

He's east bound and down..... loaded up and truckin...

He's gonna do what they say can't be done.

He's got a long way to go and a short time to get there.....

I liked Jerry. I liked Smoky and the Bandit, except for what it did to Burt Reynolds' career.

My favorite song of his was Amos Moses...

His acting was suspect, but the characters were fun.

He'll be missed.

I remember watching him on Glen Campbell's show.

I had him as a guest teacher in my Commercial Music class at Vanderbilt. His secretary was the TA for the class. He was very, very nice and helped out a lot of aspiring musicians in the class.

I had RadioDude on at noon, and that's the song they played when they announced the death. Emphysema, according to RD.

Mine too -- love that song.

It's one of those songs I can sing along with all the lyrics but don't remember when I heard it enough to learn 'em.

My first time learning the name Jerry Reed was from his role as himself on a Scooby Doo episode.
