I thought about this afterwards and was going to clarify it in the answer post (I probably still will because a lot of people don't go through and read the responses that are posted after they have answered).

You get whatever tier gives you the most points, but only one tier per question. The "Ballpark" point only figures when an answer isn't close enough to qualify for a higher point value.

For example, if you asked when humans first walked on the moon (1969), and you got these responses from two different players -- 1960 and 1974, would you reward the 1960 response for being "in the ballpark," but not reward the 1974 response, even though it is actually closer?
