Snaxx update

#1 Post by Snaxx » Fri Aug 29, 2008 8:00 pm

On the lucky side I am in another radio contest, this time with a 1 in 50 chance of winning a car! Actually it would be a two-year lease on a Honda hybrid if I win. I got chosen out of a drawing for the final 50 who will gather next Sunday where each of us will try our key for the car. My sister, whose car barely passes inspection, would get my 2004 Toyota during that time.

On the need-a-little BB thoughts or prayers note, my one living grandparent is in the hospital due to an ulcer. She hopes to be out in the next couple of days but is 93 years old so there is always some concern at that age.

Off to see my team the next two days at the place where it is still *kinda* affordable! :P

Good luck, snaxx!!!

The wife of a buddy of mine just won a 2008 Impala. Really sharp car and really good price: 5 bucks in raffle tickets. (Oh, yeah, and about 5000 bucks in taxes.)

Best wishes to your grandmother.

I think Timsterino should put some form of blessing on your car key. Make it a winner for sure.

Good luck, Snaxx! Hope you're tootin' a new horn soon!

Best wishes for gramma for a quick recovery!

As for the Yanks, they're getting on my last nerve. They are the very definition of mediocrity this year. Every time I think they're gonna make a run of it, they fall on their faces again. Yet they win JUST enough to have leave the door slightly open. But that "slightly" is getting smaller and smaller..

Give my regards to the grand ol' cathedral. I made my last pilgimage a few months ago.

I was gonna make a smartass comment about somehow missing that good luck gene. Then I thought of my family and friends and thought "yup, I guess I got it, too!"

Not quite the same as actually winning the car, but good luck!

And best wishes for a speedy recovery to your grandmother!

It looks encouraging as today they were talking about Grandma maybe going home tomorrow, and with the question being more the logistics of getting her home than whether she can go home in the next couple of days.

Thanks for all your responses and support!

My grandma is recovering at home now. The Yankees lost both games, but it was nice being at the stadium this weekend. We said that the Yankees may give her another ulcer!

I got a call from the station that they are postponing the thing (an outdoor event) to next Sunday due to T.S. Hanna. I was glad to know in advance as I had been following the storm and it might be gone by Sunday morning but the forecasters were not sure. We're up in NY and the storm is still off the Carolina coast. My sister would be making an hour drive so a last minute decision would have been an inconvenience much like when they rain out a baseball game after its scheduled start.

Also my Mom who was in Myrtle Beach this week is back in New York watching the news about Hanna's strike being near M.B.

They finally held the drawing this Sunday, and my odds were a little better as only 36 of the 50 had qualified, but I did not win either prize. Thanks for all your good vibes!

Glad to read that Grandma is home!
