Palin's role in firing the man who wouldn't fire her bil has tainted her, as far as this year's vp slot. No, the plane is for 84-year-old senator Ted Stephens, (R-Alaska), who will make McCain seem younger and less corrupt.

114,000 votes might be about right for Representatives but not every single congressperson. Some Senators got a lot more votes than that.

MSNBC now is putting up a blurb corroborating the story that Palin is the choice.

Well- at least there'll be eye candy to look at!

Well, it will certainly make the VP debate more interesting, if no more relevant than usual.

And does anyone else think that all the speculation and leaks about the GOP VP choice were deliberate, to keep some of the spotlight and media coverage off the Dem convention and the acceptance speech?

She's certainly done a lot for cleaning up Alaska since she has been in office.

I am pleased.

Knew this last night. Not because of any connections, but because someone emailed the flight plan of a plane leaving Anchorage for, of all places, suburban Dayton.

Spent some time looking up stuff about Palin because the only thing I knew about her was the relative inexperience and the investigation.

I think she's a very interesting choice.

The NRA/union family combo could be very effective for McCain in places. As will her anti-abortion stand (And, sorry, but she is pro-death penalty, so she is not pro-life).

It also may be outweighed by how people view the economy for the last eight years. It will depend.

And, while her work as mayor is admirable, the town she was mayor of is smaller than some larger parishes in Philadelphia. Does that mean Monsignor F.X. Kane is qualified to be VP? He balanced my old parish's budget for years.

I will be interested to hear her views on things like public transportation and infrastructure.

Oh, AND funding veterans issues like the GI Bill and homeless veterans.

As someone who supports the work of the Philadelphia Veterans Multi-Service and Eudcation Center, Inc. and Project HOME, I am especially interested hearing that.

In politics "pro-life" has a determined meaning, and under that meaning, she is pro-life. I could make the argument that support for the Death Penalty is more Pro-Life than opposition to it is.

Moreover, everyone involved noted that Palin was making light-hearted, joking comments.

I am guessing that Biden will back out of his acceptance of the VP bid. I can recall that Biden exclaimed, "I'm not the guy", numerous times when asked about being Obama's VP.

I just thought it was interesting.

Some may question whether Palin and Obama have the experience to be President, but both claim to be well experienced with cannabis.

I don't know much about Palin's politics, but after a minute or two of hearing her speak, I had to hit the mute button. Her cartoonish voice is almost as appealing to me as Mary Hart's voice is to Kramer.
