I think he raised Obama to heights even He can't reach.

I will be watching the festivities at the Obamacropolis tonight.

I miss the good ol' days of seeing Bubba Clinton meeting people and eating at McDonald's.

The last three nights have given us a string of powerful and phenomenal speeches: Bill, Hillary, Michelle, Joe Biden, John Kerry, Brian Schweitzer, and Dennis Kucinich. This is the first time I've ever said this, but Barack has some tough acts to follow. He'll have to hit a grand slam tonight to top them.

But I can guarantee that if he hits it, this election will be over. The landslide will be imminent.

Bubba looked trim and fit. Somma those NY health nuts musta been filling out his dance card lately oops I mean his menus.

He was a huge hit at the watch party about 10 blocks from The Can oops I mean the Pepsi Center. We joined in the standing ovation even though he was 10 blocks away.

I await the photo of me and 500 of my closest friends at the watch party.

What's your favorite flavor of Kool Aid?

If you have been following some of the recent polls, Obama has actually lost ground to McCain these past few days despite all these spine-tingling speeches.

I am looking forward to seeing how McCain and his speech-givers will negate all the bloviating that's been going on at the DNC. (and, I'm sure there will be sufficient quantities going on at the RNC next week, if they hold it next week).

But, what I am really looking forward to are the debates, of which I hope there will be many.

I think McCain will win in a Reaganesque landslide once the folks see what Tommy / Obama really stands for.

I didn't post last week the latest state-by-state polls prior to the convention, but Obama has pulled ahead of McCain in Colorado and Nevada... though Indiana, which was previously for Obama by 1%, is now for McCain by 3%. That's still a net gain of 3 electoral votes (Colorado/Nevada have 14 compared to Indiana's 11) since August 15. I'll post new polls once both conventions have ended.

National polls are horses**t. Ask Al Gore how that popular vote thing worked out for him.

They'll probably try to "negate all the bloviating" by doing the only things they're good at doing: dishonest attacks, codewords, and exploiting 9/11.

Actually, my drug of choice is pot. It is non-habit forming (IMO), easy to get and cheap, provides a mind-set for some powerful sex and enhances the taste of brownies or ice cream. What more could you ask for in a drug? They might even make your Kool Aid taste better.

Like many of you, I no longer take much stock in polls.

In this case, I think you need as much salt as you have polls. All over the country, Obama campaign offices have been targeting likely Obama voters for registration, going to farmers' markets, flea markets, WalMart parking lots (until they get chased off), college campuses, and so on.

Until those new voters hit the books and start getting calls, I think there will be a lot of polls of "likely" voters who haven't voted for a Republican since Ronald Reagan but who are ready to jump ship to McCain now. I'm predicting a radical shift when secretaries of state start updating the rolls.

I don't know how long the updating takes. I was very interested in a particular registration which I kept checking, and it stayed the same until around mid-July, when it was magically updated back to March 15, well ahead of the deadline this guy needed. I don't doubt the accuracy of the March 15 date, it's the timeliness of the updating, and therefore the accuracy of the polls, which I question.

Well, it wasn't the grand slam I was looking for, but he knocked it up the middle and brought two runners home.

Al Gore, Tim Kaine, and Susan Eisenhower (Ike's granddaughter) gave great speeches as well.

The GOP convention will pale in comparison to this convention... unless they somehow resurrect Reagan.
