So what's up in "Balmer" on September 7th?

For some reason it appears that there is not a scheduled baseball game in Baltimore on Sunday, September 7th. Instead the O's will play a double header with the visiting A's on Saturday the 6th. Given that these poor overworked million dollar athletes rarely play a doubleheader anymore it seems odd they would schedule one in lieu of a perfectly good Sunday.
I suppose it happens but I can't recall the last time that a team did not have a scheduled game on a Sunday during the regular season.
And why don't teams play on holidays anymore? This Labor Day 10 teams are not scheduled to labor. I would think it would be a good day to schedule a game and draw a decent crowd. It was much the same on Memorial Day this year.
Perhaps it was not the case but it seemed like in the hazy distant past that teams did all play on holiday Mondays, especially Labor Day. Just as a random check on Labor Day 1988 all 28 teams (at the time) played a game although on Memorial Day in 1988 4 teams didn't have a game scheduled so perhaps I am disremembering...
