The league is wrong. If he had control problems, they might be justified in interfering, but since the article indicates that he has never hit anybody, it's absurd to ban him from pitching.

I agree with TKO and Cal.
I think the league is wrong.
The league official said there were lots of beginners in the league. I do wonder if there could be a compromise where he could pitch in a league of older kids or against more experienced competition.
There's just something so wrong in keeping a kid from doing something he loves and is good at.

It sounds like they offered that, but it doesn't say what the response was.
League officials suggested that Jericho play other positions, or pitch against older players or in a different league.

The way I read it, I'm not sure Jericho's current league has the authority to make an offer on behalf of another league.
BUT, I also didn't get the sense that the beginners' league actually contacted another league, either.
The sense I got was that they were throwing the suggestion out there (so to speak) in hopes that some other league makes the offer.
