and Steve Winwood did it as an opening act for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Steve certainly gets better with age and in his one hour and fifteen minute opening set at Verizon on Friday night, he did everything from Blind Faith, Traffic and back to his original roots with the Spencer Davis Group. Simply the best. So is his new CD "Nine Lives", you might still be able to find my review of this album on Amazon.
All hard rock music has only one or two degrees of Seperation through Winwood. An Icon and a legend!

That sounds like it would have been a killer concert. I saw Winwood when he was with Blind Faith back in 1970 or 1971 at MSG in NY.dodgersteve182 wrote:and Steve Winwood did it as an opening act for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. After reading Clapton's biography, I feel the same way regarding your last statement. In the world of rock music, there virtually isn't anyone that he has not played with or recorded with at one time or another.

I'm still hacked that I missed out when he canceled a concert in 1973.
Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Man I would pay anything for a reunion of Blind Faith on their 40th Anniversary next year! They could always sub Jack Bruce for the late Rick Grilch. I heard that Bruce stole the show locally at the Hippiefest earlier this summer performing some Cream classics! I don't think Blind Faith ever made it further west than Phoenix in their one and only tour?Sir_Galahad wrote:That sounds like it would have been a killer concert. I actually heard that Cream is planning a reunion tour sometime next year. Blind Faith was a very short-lived "super-group." They toured the US for less than a year and finished that tour in Hawaii.dodgersteve182 wrote: Man I would pay anything for a reunion of Blind Faith on their 40th Anniversary next year!
