How about the Jimi Hendrix Experience Music Project/Science Fiction Hall of Fame? This combined museum isn't far from the Needle.

Take the ferry across Puget sound. Oh, and then back.

Visits Pike Place market.

Visit the Hiram M. Chittenden locks. Might be some salmon there this time of year, maybe not. But still interesting.

Drop in on Ken Jennings.

Or just tell him, "Bite me!"

When we were kids, my sisters and I would stand at the head or foot of our beds and call out "Bobbyyy Shermannnn!" before falling onto the mattress. I suppose we were easily amused...

Not half as cranky as the passive-aggressive guy who wrote him that e-mail!

In fact, he sounds like a good match for your mom! ;)

It's kind of nasty for him to take a private email and post it on a public blog that has a large audience.

I haven't been to Seattle in ?? years, so help me remember...doesn't Seattle have the aquarium that's built right in Puget Sound?
Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!

Yes, but it was very dirty the last time I went there.

All three, but I meant the aquarium. They had leaks all over too.

I'm working on the problem, as well as one can work on a leak from the comfort of this Starbucks cybercafe....

You think so? Ken didn't include any names or identifying details (except that this family has a 18-year-old daughter). It seemed like a good example letter for Ken to quote, in order to discuss this aspect of his "fame".

And if Ken was a little annoyed by the e-mail and using his blog to vent, wouldn't you feell that way, too?

If you sent me a private email, how would you feel if I quoted it on the bored.

I would never do that, but that's the point I am trying to make.

Yes, so did the sky.

We're two private individuals, and we understand the differences implied in communicating via private messages vs. posting it publically. So, yes, disclosing something I wanted kept private would be bad manners.

But what was the private content here, that Ken was violating by quoting it on his blog? Whoever that guy was, he's still totally anonymous.

Yes, he's probably pissed, if he read that on the blog. But he was already pissed. Now, at least, he might also be embarrassed!

Thanks for that clarification, which obviously changes everything PSM and I have been discussing on this tangent!
