The Bills-Colts game was the first pre-season game I've seen on the NFL Network this year. I was pleasantly surprised that the Sharpe/Faulk/Sanders trio were really pretty good! Generally having nothing but ex-players in the booth things either get boring, out of control or non-informational.
Are they going to be the regular season announcing team? I'd look forward to the game if that were the case. Too bad Shannon's on 'another network'. Ha!
Also I was sad when Warren Sapp retired because that would be the end of the "It's hilarious" advertisement. But the new fantasy league commercial of his is great! He's the Charles Barkley of the NFL Network. (Speaking of which, I really require a T-Mobile commercial involving Chuck, DWade and their gold medals.)
He'll also be on the Inside the NFL show that has moved to Showtime. One can never have enough Sapp, in my opinion.

I didn't watch a lot of the game but I thought they were awful as announcers. They didn't speak clearly, they constantly mispronounced names, they would be off on multiple tangents, and they tended to speak over each other. And I didn't think they added much analysis as former players.
I wouldn't mind these guys individually doing color but there should always be a play-by-play guy in the booth.
Unless that person is Bryant Gumble. I'll take these three over that guy any day.

No matter where you go, there you are.
