WWTBAM Bored

Actually, I was wondering about our BB who was a contestant who was also a chemist and master gardener.

I found a plant in my garden that I am certain is not a weed. I thought it was a Rudbeckia, but now I am not sure.

I checked all the seeds I grew last year and can't identify it.

I guess I could wait until it flowers, maybe next year, but want to finish weeding.

Leaf is med dark, a little shiny green. 4 in by 3 in gentle oval with some gentle scalloping. I put it in a sunny border and am sure it is a perrenial.

I am in zone 6 in CT. I did do a quick internet search in a plant finder and didn't see it.

I think I will go to the local garden center to look for some shady perrenials and will take the one I accidentally dug up with me. I would think they would know or maybe I will see it there.

If you're trying to grow weed, it should look like this.

It's a weed. Bummer, it has nice foliage. It is a black-eyed susan wannabe. Now if it was going to have a nice flower, I would keep it anyway.

Um, Confessor. I grew up in Hawai'i. That particular weed is one of the most profitable crops in that particular state.

Not that I would have had any particular experience with that particular weed.

A pot story.

On Thursday, I dropped Maddie off at school because she was working registration for the drama department.

I then took Emma and my friend Ellen's son to registration at their new middle school. (Ellen doesn't want to talk about her cancer any more and she figured that nobody would ask me about it.)

My friend knew that I was heading back to the high school to pick up Maddie, so she gave me a Calphalon pot to return to another friend, Monica, who had brought her dinner one night.

I called Maddie and told her to make sure that Monica didn't leave because I was bringing her something from Ellen. Monica, said out loud, "Oh, Julie has my pot."

All of the teenagers who were around them started looking wondering about us and chatting amongst themselves. They were still commenting when I showed up with Monica's pot. It just wasn't the pot they thought it would be.

No pot here but congratulations to Waipahu, Hawaii in the Little League World Series. They play Mexico tomorrow.

Oh, and if anyone watching tomorrow wonders why they sometimes call them Waipio, Waipahu is in the Waipio Valley.
