Jeff and I just saw "V for Vendetta" a few nights ago. There were a lot of Guy Fawkes masks in the movie.

Remember, remember the fifth of November,
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder treason
should ever be forgot!

I attended a Guy Fawkes celebration last Saturday night. Had a bonfire, fireworks, Guys to burn, everything to make it seem English, even though we were just outside Celeste, TX.

Penny for the Guy, pardner?

There's no school here today, either! We take our Colonial ties very seriously in the Old Dominion!

On the East Coast, Columbus Day is huge. Here on the West Coast, it passes quietly noted only by the absence of mail.

We had school on Columbus Day, but most of the rest of VA was out, as was much of the East Coast. I was shocked at how packed Busch Gardens was that weekend until I found out they were off all around us. :(
