This makes me wish I had been an Olympic athlete during my younger years.... http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/ ... 582421.ece

Out of all the reasons to have been an Olympic athlete, that's the one you choose?

I think as soon as Phelps was out of the pool for good, he resumed his place at the end of Mom's apron strings.

Where's the hate? What's wrong with spending quality time with Mom rather than shtupping the help?

Be nice to me or I'm telling LaLa.

The only thing I find shocking in that article is that there are athletes at this level of competition who still smoke.

No, it's only one of many. As I go to the gym every day now as a 41 year ols, I look back and wish that I had established a lifestyle of athletic training and fitness back when I was younger. But I guess we all look back and think about things we'd change.

I found the article amusing more than anything else...

I don't see this as any different than for any other well-known sports figure, other than the sheer concentration of pent-up hormones present in an Olympic village. All those paternity suits against the pro athletes don't come out of nowhere. And Magic Johnson didn't become HIV-positive by being monogamous.

He also has a girlfriend.

Lindsay Lohan thinks he's hot. But I'm guessing she thinks EVERYone is hot.

It's probably the Chinese gymnasts. They are hoping that smoking will stunt their growth and keep them looking like they are still fourteen, even thought they are "16."

Plus cigarettes probably help filter that nasty Beijing air a bit....

He specifically mentioned a couple of table tennis players. When I compile a mental list of sports for which conditioning is most necessary, ping pong would be clustered in a strange group near the bottom. I suspect that no track, swimming, and gymnastics competitors have been meeting outside to share a book of matches.

She doesn't think I'm hot either, but then again, I don't give a flying rat's ass what Lindsay Lohan thinks.

She prolly thinks you're related to her.
