Flowers 'n'at (Wedding Day -2)

#1 Post by VAdame » Thu Aug 21, 2008 11:59 pm

We spent the evening making centerpieces, bouquets, & boutonnieres. We decided to go w/ silk & do the arranging ourselves -- especially since we kinda splurged on the food! Hey, we're a creative, crafty bunch -- I think they look pretty good :D

Karen's (Bride) bouquet, large, in vase. Leah's (MoH), smaller, lying down. Couple of boutonnieres scattered around:

Centerpieces -- creamy white roses in little glass bowls:

We still need to tie the ribbon around some of the bowls (there are 15) -- but Leah can do that tomorrow (she's better at it than I am!)

Karen & John met w/ Poochie (yes, we have a minister -- who is also Keith's cousin, real name "Wilmer" -- named Poochie!) yesterday to go over the ceremony. Everything is set -- Poochie's in good health & good spirits. Some of you may recall that we treated him for thyroid cancer earlier this year -- well, he had a checkup yesterday & got a glowing report :D His voice is strong & his appetite is returning (after losing both during radiation therapy.)

Anyhow.....the weather forecast is good for Saturday -- we were a little afraid Fay might migrate up here & dump some rain, but so far, she's staying put (sorry, Florida BBs!)

Day after tomorrow.....Yikes!

The flowers are lovely. I wish great weather and a great wedding for everyone and a lifetime of happiness for Karen.

Very nice flowers.

I was going to make a comment that of course the medical report was glowing after having radiation, but I won't.

Best of luck on the weather. You can't control it, though, so just deal with it as it comes and don't worry about it ahead of time.

I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.
