Thanks for the link - it was fun to watch especially since I just finished reading Prisoner of Trebekistan.

I had to laugh at the lead-in where they give the 'answer' in the Former Jeopardy Champions and none of the clues would lead anyone who is even a little familiar with Ken Jennings would think of him, given how he was described - but they seemed to think that Ken Jennings was the obvious answer. So, I guess they are of the opinion that Ken J. is the only Jeopoardy champion anyone would know. Likewise, BAM has had only 1 winner - John Carpenter - if they know his name, more then likely they know him as the guy who called his dad to tell him he won big - if they know anything about at all.

It was interesting to me how many people, once they heard I was going to be on Millionaire asked either about Regis or had no idea that the show was still on.

---Jay (If you know the number of episodes of J! that Art Flemming hosted for the syndicated version of J! (not the datetime version) - then you will also know the question to the answer being the number of days until my episode airs)

I really like Bob and I liked his book, but I can't fathom why this video feature would be in the national media this week. I think his Trebekistan book came out almost two years ago, so it would be considered ancient history by networks, which normally focus only on new releases. It's rare to see something like this unless it's part of a promotional campaign for something. I kept waiting for the punch line that never came. I thought maybe this was leading up to an announcement that Jeopardy would be having a big 25th anniversary tournament, and Bob would be back in action, or something like that.

Anyone else agree or disagree? Any theories on why CBS showed this?

There's a lot of speculation on the J! board that something indeed is in the works - they noted that Ken Jennings, Brad Rutter and Bob were seen in the audience at a J! taping a couple months ago.

Ken mentioned on his blog that he had just completed doing a TV pilot, which I assume was "Ken Jennings Vs. the World."

Maybe he's dating the segment producer?

---Jay (Merv Griffin was this old when he Jeopardy! premiered - if you know how old that is, you will know the number of days until my episode is expected to air)

While watching the clip, was anyone else reminded of a BB? One known for his notebooks, perhaps?

Maybe it's in the news this week because GMA has been running a classic game show segment each day showing what GSN will be airing during their classic's week next month.

Bob is a great personality, I don't know if he has wandered on this bored at any time in the past but I did try to recruit him into attending some BB days at Calif. Adventure. He never responded to my invitations. Probably too busy with his real life.
